A year abroad with teenage girls
I currently live in SC. Through the wonderful
Experience of hosting a foreign exchange student from Italy, we’ve built an amazing friendship with a family in north central Italy. My wife and I are throwing around the idea of spending 1 year living close to them. However my teenage daughters are hesitant, because of all the typical reasons; new friends, new school, different language etc. I’m hoping to find some advice, or get in touch with a family or community of people that has done this already. Id like to hear the perspective of a young woman/lady that has done this already. What did you like about your experience? What was easy, what was really hard, any regrets? Then I can take this info and give it to my daughters…. I’m not the type of parent that would make a move like this if my girls aren’t on board 100%, or at least 85% or so 😆.
