Looking for an indie book pulled from the Chapters app. I believe the mmc was dirty-blonde and he gets amnesia after an accident I think it was an incident with water including him and fmc when they were kids. He is paralyzed for some time. Years later, fmc is on the run from abusive corrupt husband with her daughter and runs back into mmc but he doesn’t recognize her under the new name and it had been years apart…. If I remember correctly he is a handyman helping the FMC and her daughter fix up their house…. He is being manipulated by a girl from their past filling in his memory so she can be with him and he only unlocks his memories when he sees fmc say elephant shoe to her daughter which is something him and the fmc used to say to each other when they were kids because it means I love you…. The cover of I remember correctly and I’m not mixing it up with another book shows a woman posing on a man in a wheelchair. I’ve been searching for this book but it’s no longer on chapters and it’s been so long I forget what the original title was!! It was such a good book but I can’t find it because I can’t remember the authors name either!!
