Post OP (Hysterektomy/Laparotomy)
Lying in bed and quite bored I am going to write the whole story:
At the beginning of April I spent a week in bed with the baddest abdominal pain ever, for a couple of days also joined by diarrhoea. I thought that's just some hypertonic muscle and so decided to sit it (or better sleep it) out.
When I recovered and went to the doctor, since my underbelly still felt hard as a stone it turned out I had a myomatic uterus and would need an OP.
The operation was a week ago, last Monday. During OP it turned out that what I thought was hypertonic muscle was actually an infarct of one of three big myomas that also caused an inflammation of the appendix.
(I am still something between puzzled and frantic about how close to a major catastrophe I was)
Anyway, it's all out now: the myomas, the appendix and my uterus. But during OP they had to switch from laparoscopic to laparotomic, so I woke up with quite a cut in my underbelly. Post OP went also well so far, went out of bed for the first time last Tuesday, pain was manageable and is already fading.
I sleep well, I am not dizzy or sleepy during the daytime and actually able to concentrate, I am back from hospital and took my first walk outside Saturday, but walking, sitting and standing still feels uncomfortable and sometimes hurts.
Which means: I am sitting in bed, wide awake but mostly unable to move (at least not normal) further than to the toilet or kitchen.
Anyone here with similar experiences?
