want to be on the beach property, not near.. Want a nicer hotel. Would appreciate on any feedback and also maybe some quirky things to do while there. Thank you , inadvance.

I am turning 60 in September and my daughter lives in Austin, we want to do a mother/ daughter roadtrip that will take about 4-5 hours to get to from Austin. I have been googling fun Austin trips, quirky road side attractions, etc. Thought I would come here to see if you all could give me some suggestions/ideas. Thank you !!
