Looking for a good road trip water bottle (specifications below)
Hi all!
I'm looking for a good road trip/long car ride water bottle since I'm frequently in the car for extended periods of time (like 4+ hours) traveling to visit family or friends. I have some specific requirements, and I've noticed that a lot of water bottles will meet one or two of my requirements, but I haven't found a water bottle that meets all of them yet.
Requirements
- Has to be easy to open and sip while driving. For the longest time I would purchase and/or refill smart water bottles because I loved the "easy sipping" tops. I don't need something super complex, but I find that with open-sip water bottles, I risk just splashing water all over my face and down my front.
- Has to be closeable with one hand and water-tight. I don't want to risk the mouthpiece getting dirty and leaking if it falls onto my car floor. On that note...
- Has to be at least somewhat durable. Once or twice I've messed up putting my water bottle back in my cupholder while driving and it fell onto the floor of my car, and whilst I've never had any water bottle, I don't want to have to consistently replace my road trip water bottle because it keeps breaking.
- Has to fit in a cupholder. (The cupholders in my car are a little over 3" in dameter for refrence)This one feels obvious, but I remember when Owala first hit the market and I saw various videos of people lamenting the fact that they don't fit in the cupholder. If I'm on a road trip, I'm gonna want to store the water bottle I'm using in my cupholder so I can easily access it while driving.
Bonus Consideration (or 4.5) - I would like it if there was some kind of consideration for keeping water cool for an extended period of time, but at this point all of my other specifications come first and this would be a nice bonus.
