Second year for Kristen, and I love love love her
From the awkward beginnings of Top Chef with Katie coming across awfully, to Padma, who was pretty awesome in her own right (sort of cold when she had to be but still human and kind) to Kristen, who has been through it. There is no way you could find a better judge than in someone who has dealt with all the things these chefs are dealing with. First season with Kristen behind the wheel - she made me cry, because she brought her own memories and emotions and related not only to the competitive chefs, but to us amateurs who are watching. Season two with her at the helm: she is still Kristen - comforting a chef who just had a hard time…reminding us, once again, that she still remembers what it’s like - and I hope the producers never try to quash this. I have always loved Top Chef but I love it more with Kristen on the panel, and seeing she’s still not relegated to being a cold or aloof judge, seeing her be allowed to be the person we love and respect. Love love love you, Kristen. Wish there were more like you.
