How much money do you typically spend per week while on placement?

Hi everyone, I’m starting my course in September and will be doing placements from January. Ive never done placement before so I’m wondering if anyone has any insight on how it will go? Meaning could you still work when on placement, how much money do you think you spent on petrol/other related expenses per week while on placement, what is the work load like etc. any insight would be much appreciated!

Misinformation from universities overstating the job market?

I am starting at uni soon and one of the big pulls they have used this year is that there is a plethora of jobs and not nearly enough people to fill them, meaning that everyone is guaranteed a job when they graduate.
Yesterday I had a conversation with someone I went to primary school with as I found out they had just graduated from the exact course I’m starting soon, and I was telling her how I was excited abt the course and how it’s great that everyone is guaranteed a job, and she said that she believed that is misinformation and lies basically as they were told the same thing and now everyone’s panicking because they don’t have enough jobs for everyone graduating.

Why would they lie? Could they have just overestimated and now are scrambling? I don’t know what to think abt it

Apologies for the way this is written I’m tired

Outlast the jungle - why are most of these people fucking insufferable?

I know this is just a show but I’m watching it and most of these people are deplorable. The way they are treating Sarah is crazy. I feel so awful for her. I know she talks a lot but it was heartbreaking seeing her cry after being voted out of the group. And the other team she just joined with the pink hair woman and they are just stringing her along! I’ve never seen anything like this and I’m genuinely so grossed out by their behaviour.

I posted on here last month about a concern with HR and a fact find investigation, I’m now wondering if it’s appropriate to raise a formal complaint?

( I initially asked about a concern I had with a fact find meeting, the jist of it was that my manager was trying to suggest gross misconduct for not keeping my teams active at all times when working from home. Totally understand that I should’ve been more diligent with making sure I was showing as online at all times but the ‘investigation’ has been pending for 42 days (6 weeks) now and I have resigned as of last week. They require 3 months notice so had to as I’m going back to university in September. )

I am wondering if making a formal complaint at this stage is appropriate on the amount of time it’s taken them to sort this out. I am autistic and have been very stressed by this process and I don’t feel they have handled it correctly. ALSO 22 minutes after I sent my resignation email my manager put into our team group chat saying her job has been at risk for redundancy and she’s been dealing with it for a few weeks now so that’s why she hasn’t been more communicative with the team. Her job is safe, I don’t imagine they’d ever get rid of her to be honest. This is awful but I can’t bring myself to care, I feel like she saw my resignation where I stated that this process has had an impact in my decision to resign so promptly and then sent in a quick message after the fact to try and explain herself.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I posted on here 33 days ago about a concern and they still haven’t closed it out yet

I initially asked about a concern I had with a fact find meeting, the just of it was that my manager was trying to suggest gross misconduct for not keeping my teams active at all times when working from home. Totally understand that I should’ve been more diligent with making sure I was showing as online at all times but the ‘investigation’ has been pending for 33 days now with multiple hour long meetings and I can’t help but feel like they are taking the hand with it at this stage. I am going back to university in September and they have a very long notice period so I am waiting out the next couple of weeks until I can hand in my notice. Is there a guideline for things like this with HR and management? 33 days is a long time.

I was also given then advice from some lovely people on here that I shouldn’t resign until this has been resolved but at this stage I feel like I can’t wait for them to wrap it up. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I’m reading a book right now and the FMC has just said that her social worker has an expensive haircut and other costly accessories and she seems like she has never experienced any hardship in her life, and it got me thinking about if anyone has experienced anything similar in real life. Has anyone felt that their social worker or support worker could have been more in touch with certain things? More subtle with their material things? Just curious to see if you wish they had been more relatable or something. Thank you :)

FYI I am studying to become a social worker so it would be really insightful to hear some opinions :)

Hi guys, I just got a letter today stating that my tests have confirmed the presence of sleep apnoea. That is all the info that it gives and says that more will be discussed at the appointment they have set. Is there anything I should be aware of going in? Any particular questions I should have at the forefront of my mind? I’m 25 and I’m wondering if it is typical to have this condition at this age? I’m just not very familiar with the process at all and would love some thoughts if anyone has any 😊 thank you! This is with the NHS btw
