Company suspended me and cancelled visa but still holding passport
Hi everyone I am an Indian worker in UAE and I really need advice because I do not know what to do anymore.
I joined a delivery rider job in a large facility management company in UAE. After joining I requested my passport back from the company but they refused to return it. I filed a complaint with MOHRE regarding passport withholding.
After the complaint the company suspended me and took back my bike. MOHRE told me to visit the office and said they should return my passport and solve the suspension issue but the company refused both.
I also filed a police complaint through Worker Voice regarding passport withholding. The police contacted the company and instructed them to return my passport but they still did not return it.
I visited the office multiple times including for settlement but I was denied entry and still did not receive my passport. I had no income accommodation or support and survival became very difficult.
Finally I asked MOHRE to cancel my labour contract because I wanted to return to India. My visa is now cancelled and grace period is running but the company still has my passport and also has not provided my visa cancellation copy.
The company also filed a compensation complaint against me saying I left during probation but they were the ones who suspended me and stopped me from working.
The Indian Consulate Dubai has already contacted the company officially regarding my passport but still nothing happened.
Has anyone faced something similar in UAE What else can I do now to get my passport back.
