Warning: Online teaching school withholding teacher salaries and using lesson recordings without consent”
I want to share my experience as a warning to other online English teachers.
I worked for AngloKidsSchool as a self-employed online English teacher. After completing a full month of teaching in April 2026, my payment of $490 was withheld. My contract was terminated immediately after I disclosed my pregnancy — documented in their own email.
When I requested payment, the reasons given changed with every single response:
• First it was probation
• Then performance
• Then operational disruption
• Then they sent me the contract clause — which they are misapplying to the wrong month
My absence was due to a certified medical condition. I provided documentation and followed all correct procedures. April was fully worked before any absence began.
To make it worse, I recently discovered they are using recordings of my lessons publicly on their social media pages for promotional purposes — without my consent or the consent of the children in the lessons.
When I posted a factual review on their Facebook page they deleted it within hours and blocked me.
