Advice ?

Hey everyone,

I'm a Canadian citizen currently navigating a TN work authorization situation and hoping to get some insight from anyone who has dealt with similar roles or categorles.

Here's my background:
- Bachelor's in Business Administration (coursework in Accounting, Auditing, and Inventory Management)
- Post-graduate diploma in Supply Chain Management
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory control, and cross-border operations
I recently went through two interview rounds for a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Specialist role at a logistics company and received positive feedback throughout.

However, the company closed my case citing TN work authorization concerns.

I have since consulted with an immigration lawyer on my own, who believes a viable TN case could be built - either under the Accountant or Management Consultant category - depending on how the role's duties and responsibilities are framed.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully obtained TN status for an FTZ-related role?
  2. Which TN category (Accountant vs. Management Consultant) do you think is the stronger fit for an FTZ Administration Specialist?
  3. Has anyone had a company reconsider a TN decision after an independent legal opinion was presented?
  4. Any tips on how to approach the employer's legal/HR team with this kind of request?

Any advice, experiences, or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
