Horrible side effects after STOPPING BC. No period/ovulation/acne
Looking for similar experiences and advice.
I stopped BC after being on it for 15 years in Dec,2026. I had that first period post BC on December 8.
Then January came: only spotting at the end of the month. Not a normal bleeding cycle.
Same in February.
Between February and March I started getting breakouts along my hairline. My face was clean when I was on BC, I rarely had pimples.
I saw my OBGYN and she prescribed Provera to induce a period in March. She also asked for bloodwork to test hormone levels and they all came back normal. Vag ultrasound shows no cysts.
April I tested between days 11 and 30 for ovulation and never got a peak.
After 45 days into the cycle and no signs of a period, I took provera again to induce it.
We are in no hurry to get pregnant but I’m starting to worry that I my body is not going “back to normal” after stopping bc. In particular I’m worried about the lack of periods and lack of ovulation.
Appreciate you reading it and any word of advice/similar experiences.
