Looking for Dog Monuments, Memorials & Historic Dog Sites Across Ohio
Hi everyone! I’m an Ohio creator currently researching dog monuments, memorials, statues, and historic dog stories across the state for a storytelling/documentary-style YouTube series about dogs in American history.
I’ve already started building a list of Ohio locations, including:
• Smoky the War Dog — Rocky River Reservation
• Dog Fountain — S. Main Plaza, Mount Vernon
• Ohio Police K9 Memorial — Amelia
• Liberty Memorial — Bloomville
• Vietnam K9 Memorial Wall — Groveport
• Fireman & Dogs Statue — Fayette
• Harvey the Civil War Dog — Cleveland Public Square
• Johnny Morehouse & Dog — Dayton
• Muggs the Airedale — Columbus
• Dog Topiary Park — Dublin
• Spock Memorial Dog Park — Portsmouth
I’d love to know if there are others I may have missed — especially:
- lesser-known monuments
- historic graves or cemetery statues
- war dog memorials
- local dog legends/stories
- museum exhibits
- working dog history
- town mascots or famous community dogs
If you know of anything interesting anywhere in Ohio, I’d really appreciate it. Photos, links, local stories, or personal memories are welcome too.
Thanks!

***** It's been a couple of hours and you guys have helped me add several to this list. I now have 22 to visit in the state of Ohio; some locations have more than one dog memorial. That's VERY impressive *****
