Hi everyone, I’m really worried and could use some advice.

Here are my results:

FBS last week: 127.5 mg/dL

FBS now: 116.1 mg/dL

HbA1c: 5.5%

I’m confused because my fasting blood sugar was high before, and although it went down, I think it might still be within the diabetic range. However, my HbA1c seems normal based on what I’ve read.

Does this mean I’m already diabetic or prediabetic? Has anyone had similar results?

For context, I’ve also been sleep-deprived lately, so I’m not sure if that affects the results.

Any insights or shared experiences would really help. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask for advice. I’m supposed to do a fasting blood sugar (FBS) test, but I didn’t get enough sleep and I’m still feeling really sleepy.

I have a toddler, so I’m almost always sleep deprived and it’s hard for me to get a full night’s rest. I’m worried if lack of sleep could affect my blood sugar results.

Should I still go ahead with the test, or is it better to reschedule when I’ve had proper sleep? Also, for those who are chronically sleep deprived, how do you manage doing lab tests like this?

Thanks in advance!
