Issue with nestaway, feels like I have been scammed

Hi guys, I am seeking out some help from the community. What to do in this scenario.

I was staying in nestaway house for the last 2 years after that i decided to move out, so i contacted customer support to confirm my notice period on 12/13th April, and they said 45 days i said okay, and on 15th april i put out my move out on 30 th may. But since i already have got the new home and had to pay rent for the new one from 20th april. So thought of staying on new house instead of old one and move out from property on 24th april, But i was ready to pay the rent of may for old house and was chill about it.
And on 27th april their area manager contacted me for the keys, so i told him that my move out is on 30th of may so why should I hand over the keys to you. I might use that house sometimes according to my wish since i will be paying for it.
He assured me that no issues you hand over the keys and since you have already moved out i will reschedule it to 30th april and you won’t have to pay for the month of may. I thought thats great then. So i handed over the keys and he canceled the move out from my ac and internally rescheduled it on 30th april.
Now after I received the final settlement from Nestaway i shows early move out charges which area manager assured that it will be removed. So I contacted him regarding this he told to connect with customer support, which they told that they need written confirmation from the area manager,
Now the area manager is not providing me written confirmation for which he promised for which i had arguements with him too
So i raised a ticket with Nestaway support, and the final resolution is i have to pay the amount, which I refused since it was not my fault,
They are threatening to go legal now.
What chances do I have?
What should I do in this case?
I am confused right now
Like since it was nestaway area manager i trusted him. And now I am stuck in between. Also its not a small amount that I can let it go.
It would be great if someone could guide me with what to do?
