CD Baby Negligence & YouTube OAC
I am desperate for assistance with this. I released 13 piano pieces with CD Baby spanning from 2023 - 2025. Sometime in early 2024, I noticed that I had never gotten access to my Official Artist Account for YouTube. I reached out to CD Baby and they said that because the name on my personal channel and my music channel did not match, they were unable to merge the two accounts. I quickly updated my name to match the topic account and notified CD Baby that the update had been made. No response. I reached out again. Still no response. This went on for about a year where I wasn't getting a response from them regarding my OAC. In March 2025, they send me an email "following up" on the request notifying me that they decided they are no longer processing OAC requests, EVEN the backlog. The problem is, you can only request the merging of accounts through the distributor that released your music and to my understanding, different distributors will automatically generate different topic accounts. I've since changed distributors from CD Baby to Landr, but I only have one release with Landr and they can only request the merge of accounts for the release they handled. I saw in some instances YouTube may step in, but it's rare. Any assistance is appreciated.
