Old story that still haunts me from working Fast Food

So, I was like 18 or 19 and fresh to the workforce, working fast food and I have a manager that's always kinda rude to me and in all honestly, I tried to shrug it off because they kinda looked like Roger from American Dad, so I figured they had probably been picked on their whole life and this is how they deal with it. Not that I agree with it, but I was always picked on as a kid, and I know people deal with it dogferently. Well, after a few months, it gets to the point that I hate working with this manager. They are always rude, stuck up and act like they're better than everyone.

Well, one day, Roger here ordered themselves a fish sandwich. It gets thrown in the trash by someone else because it wasnt on any orders on the screen and Roger wasn't around to claim it when the person handing out the food asked about it. About 10 minutes later, Roger comes back and realizes their sandwich is not where they left it. They look everywhere, see it in the trash can, and dig it out. Luckily enough nothing else had been thrown on top of it or anything. but still... 🤢🤮

A.) It's fish, especially fast food fish. That's fucking gross in general.

B.) It's been sitting for a minute, not in a fridge or in the heated area, but sitting at room temp, getting more and more room temp itself.

C.) It's been sitting on top of TRASH IN A TRASH CAN!!!!!!

I don't know about any of you, but I wouldn't have trusted it. Buy a new one, yell at whoever for throwing it away and have them remake it or something, but no.... They see me notice them pull it out of the trash and they say "You don't tell a soul." Well, I waited a few years before I ever said anything, but that shit still haunts me.....

My manager told me I was a failure; karma sucks for him

So I worked overnight at a big retail place (this was about 10 years back BTW), the Co-Manager pulled the whole backroom team (which I was on) in to a meeting in the manager's office, right at the start of shift. The manager tells us that we are ALL failures in life and no matter what, we will all fail anywhere we go in life. Obviously; that makes the team "oh so happy and motivated" 🤦‍♂️ we all call the highest HR in the company on every break, other people in the store heard about it, they all call the same number. Long story short he was shortly there after, demoted to an ASM and transferred to another store. He was (less than a year later) demoted again to a Dept. Head, then later on fired and had to go work for HIS DADDY as a Used Car Salesman. At this point, most the people on that team have all gone into leadership/supervisor/management roles; myself included. Just found out from some old contacts even daddy fired him eventually and let's just say he's not making the money he used to as a co-manager... lol.

Cash or Card?

So a customer comes in recently and my ASM is helping ring them up for $3K worth of stuff and an install for the product; the customer says they are doing "$300 in cash and the rest on card." Were their exact wording. So, my ASM types in $300 and pushes cash, and he says "ok, go ahead and tap or insert your card." Which the customer does.

The customer then says "OK, ready to use my next card." As the receipt prints. My ASM looks at them, looks at my other coworker, and the coworker says "you said 300 cash, the rest on card, we ran the card, where's the cash? We're done."

Long story short. Takes a few minutes to realise that when the customer said "cash" they meant "Debit".... It took the customer 4 different people to explain to them, before they understood, that CASH means PAPER MONEY and DEBIT means DEBIT CARD because people DO IN FACT STILL USE PAPER MONEY!!!!!! 🤦‍♂️
