Has anyone tried to make their own watercolour paint?

And how did you find it? I have some cosmetic grade metallic mica powder and was considering making my own rather than buying a set as I think it might be a little more pigmented than the ones I can get. I can’t afford to buy BEAM, or dreamland yet as I will have to pay extra for customs and tax to the UK. I know I posted about the Paul Ruben’s palette, bit I would like peoples opinion of going DIY with it.

My latest painting

This is my latest painting which has been more intricate than what I’ve done before (blending wise that is). It’s based on a screenshot taken from a YT video by Adam Stew that was posted on 26/01/26. I know it isn’t a great copy but I like that it has the essence of it. I’m really happy with how it came out especially the blending itself though.
