Feeling Lost - How long did you wait?
Hi everyone, I’m currently undiagnosed and on the shitshow of a journey that is trying to figure out what my chronic left sided pelvic pain is.
I’ve had 2 ultrasounds, a CT Scan and an MRI which all show nothing of significance, my gynaecologist is in denial of endometriosis being the cause due to this and is reluctantly offering me a laparoscopy but “doesn’t want me to be disappointed if they don’t find endometriosis and I’ve had an invasive surgery for nothing”.
This pain has recently increased in intensity causing me to take a lot of time off work (I’ve been off for 2 weeks straight now). I could get a surgery with that gynaecologist within the next month or two but I don’t feel like I trust her but I can’t get in for a second opinion anywhere else before September. I’m at a loss as to what to do.
How long did you wait to find relief from your symptoms? For those of you who had surgery, is there anything you’d recommend to help whilst waiting for your procedure?
Painkillers are not working but I constantly have a heat pack to help with the pain. I am currently doing pelvic floor physio and it’s okay, my physio says I feel very heavy in the area of pain at present.
To elaborate on my symptoms, I’ve been experiencing the pain for a year or two now that has worsened over time. This pain has started to spread into my abdomen and left leg. I was instructed to take continuous birth control and skip periods (Yasmin) a year and a half ago. I got my first period since I was told to do this 2 weeks ago as I got really sick and was throwing up for days, so I was unable to take them.
I also experience diarrhea when the pain gets bad, increased pain and nausea/vomiting after sex and increased pain when sitting or standing for long periods of time.
Thank you so much for listening :)
