How Do I Quit Primerica?
Here's all the info I have so far:
About a month ago, I applied for the position of "Business Intern," not knowing anything about the company I was applying to. After a couple of weeks, I was reached out to by a recruiter and scheduled a group Zoom interview. Everything seemed okay at first, with them discussing their "credibility" and how they "help families." However, the thing they talked about the most was "how they make money and how YOU can make more money." I was then sent to a portal to give my information (debit card number to pay for the "background check" and software used (monthly charge btw), as well as my social security number, which I'm pretty sure is normal for working; it has been for my previous jobs). I was told by my recruiter to download the apps needed, and we'd have an "orientation" at a later date. And of course, I do my research into the company after all this is said and done (I know, I'm not the brightest).
Today, I had my orientation, which basically restated everything I've said so far, but with even more emphasis on my future income and less on the actual work. After all that, I knew I had to get out of this before I went any deeper. My recruiter sent me an address and mentioned bringing people to their "weekly motivational meetings," which are meant to tell people what they do, but I don't want others to get involved in this.
So now I'd like to request a detailed procedure for severing my ties with this company. All help is appreciated. Please leave no base unaccounted for. I seriously need help.
Edit: I called a number left in a different post, and “cancelled my service” through an automated message system. I received an email stating,
“POL Account Disconnected
We received your request to cancel your POL service. Your service will be disconnected on the last day of the month for which service has been paid.
You may reconnect the service at any time within the next three months by logging in to: www.primericaonline.com The system will
take you to the reconnect process.
After the three-month period you will have to order the service again. A new setup fee will be charged if ordering POL Only or Full Service.
We hope to have you as a subscriber again in the future.”
Am I in the clear? I also plan to open a new bank account as a precaution.
