I can’t believe people thought the Big Beautiful Bill (more like the Big Betrayal Bill) would lower costs in tuition as many people and supporters claimed. Some recent tuitions by schools were released and well… they still raised. I understand it may take 10+ years to see an impact to come to light, but this bill does nothing but harm the vast majority of applicants who worked hard, especially those who got into affordable state schools or low cost private schools.

It’s also ironic that the federal government wants to tell us how much we can borrow for school, but they have no problem to keep exploding the deficit. So for those who keep saying it’s about managing debt, look around. The government even recently said their $170k salary isn’t enough while many are living paycheck to paycheck. And besides, prices aren’t even coming down. They are going up… everyday needs like groceries, especially gas, housing, and HEALTHCARE. I truly believe the purpose of this bill was to control who gets access to higher education. If they truly cared about lowering tuition prices, they would maybe fund education more than giving tax breaks to billionaires.

Title. I spoke with admissions to a state dental school today and they said a high DAT used to offset a lower GPA, but not so much anymore today. I don’t understand why it wouldn’t… especially since I went to a really hard undergrad institution while others went to schools Ik of that hand out A’s like candy. Make it make sense. Conservative here who is pro-life, but even then, I find it ironic that Ken Paxton wants access to women’s health records who travel OOS to get the healthcare they need that could be lifesaving like a D&C. Title. I’ve been trying to figure this out for too long… ugh. I want to do this BEFORE I apply this cycle.

I swear I have seen so many posts recently where users will say “Are my stats low?” And they have a 3.7/3.8 or even higher. Can we stop? How is this helpful for our community? Like this community isn’t for you to get reassurance from. It’s a bit insulting in all honestly. I get some people on here have genuine questions, but it just seems as a whole, people are either doing this for reassurance or for rage baiting/trolling.
