Productive.io Frustrations and Alternative Suggestions

Hello there. I landed a role at a creative agency as a PM and learned they adopted Productive.io. I've used and am well versed in PM tools like Wrike, Notion, Asana etc. Productive has been frustrating. I've been making a list of my frustrations with the UX that's listed below. This isn't everything but it's high level.

Is it me or have other found success with the software. It seems mouse-heavy. I have to click 2-4 times to get to certain things. For instance, I have to click fields to adjust their order instead of dragging and dropping, click on a task to make it a milestone or how I have to click a task and open a sidebar to rename it.

Short list of frustrations:

  • High Priority:
    • Doesn’t show duration between start date and end date. Unable to calculate
    • Unable to edit hours in project per day with a working window
    • Unable to have one task be shared in multiple folders (two-way sync)
    • Only able to assign one person per task
      • We often assign two people on one task
    • No Ctrl-Z to undo
  • Low Priority:
    • Unable to shift fields/columns by sliding them. Three buttons to change field order
    • No auto-save some fields require manual save but prompts to save after editing
    • The Gantt layout in Productive uses manual sorting only

Alternatively!!! The main reason why they chose productive is because they wanted to combine time tracking from harvest and the PM functions of Asana into one. Does anyone have an alternative that does both that they couldn't live without?
