Everyone is talking about Google Germany omni, but the much cooler feature wasn't even shown.

I’ve watched a few videos about the Google 2026 conference. I didn't watch the entire keynote, so forgive me if this feature actually was introduced. But somehow, nobody is talking about it, and I find this feature absolutely groundbreaking.

This is basically the precursor, or the first step, to fundamentally revolutionizing Google Glass next year. Right now, with Gemini, you can go live and just chat. You could do that before. You can also turn on the video function, and Gemini tells you what it sees. You could do that before, too.

But here is the massive 'BUT' and what’s actually new—and what I find so revolutionary: Gemini now has a memory during live video sessions.

Previously, when you showed Gemini something on live video and panned the camera away, it could only ever reference what it was seeing at that exact moment. Now, it can remember things based on context. For example: I told it, 'I'm going to show you how many fingers I'm holding up,' and I randomly showed it different numbers of fingers. It was able to list all of them back to me in the exact correct order.

That is absolutely insane, simply because it opens up entirely new real-world use cases. Especially in everyday life, when you quickly film something and say, 'Hey, let me show you this, I’m stuck here, help me out.' Before, you always had to snap individual photos. Now, Gemini can support you dynamically. It processes everything you show it over time and guides you through it
