Jeroen Ottens Space Shuttle MOC

A modern interpretation of the 8480, a set that I dreamed of during my childhood. Bought the set from Carolyns, pieces were very good quality, comparable to CaDA. I had to swap a few pieces with LEGO ones, and I had some missing pieces (sadly Carolyns doesn't send replacement or missing ones) so I had to buy some LEGO pieces to complete it. The MOC had a few issues, I had to rebuild it from scratch, modifying it in a lot of places: I put some braces to strengthen the structure and avoid the sag, I had to change the gear order to reduce the ratio, to have more torque and slowing down the functions. I surprised myself with some clever building techniques to achieve that. The only issue left is that the arm lifting with the satellite attached needs an help with a finger, or the clutch engages. It guess it's too heavy... Btw, I can pretend it's some satellite rescue mission like the STS-51A kek. (don't look at the door on the wall lol, I'm renovating the house)

edit: videos of the functions (sped up) here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1GlQxSLJ-fpoZnFlMZ1MkRmsrYOOi_aLj
