9 day itinerary, looking for feedback
Hello! This is my tentative 9 day itinerary. I am visiting for the first time in the last week of June. Would love to hear feedback on my itinerary. Is this a good plan, did I miss any absolute must do’s. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you! 💕
Day 1: Arrive in the morning at Reykjavík and spend the day exploring Reykjavík.
Day 2: Golden Circle Þingvellir → Geysir → Gullfoss → Kerið crater. Sleep near Hella or Selfoss.
Day 3: South Coast · Waterfalls + Glacier + Black SandSeljalandsfoss + hidden Gljúfrasteinn → Skógafoss (climb the stairs) → Sólheimajökull glacier → Reynisfjara black sand beach. Sleep Vík.
Day 4: Glacier Lagoon · Sleep Höfn Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon → Jökulsárlón boat tour → Diamond Beach → langoustine dinner in Höfn
Dy 5: East Fjords Scenic Drive A dedicated, unhurried day in one of Iceland's most beautiful and least crowded regions. Drive the winding coastal fjord roads. Stop at Djúpivogur harbour for coffee and the famous egg sculptures. Sleep Egilsstaðir.
Day 6 · Dettifoss + Mývatn Geothermal Day Dettifoss → Hverir sulfur mud pools → Dimmuborgir lava field → Mývatn Nature Baths soak to end the day. Sleep near Mývatn.
Day 7 · Goðafoss + Akureyri + Glaumbær + SnæfellsnesGoðafoss on the Ring Road → relaxed Akureyri lunch (botanical gardens, good coffee) → Glaumbær Viking turf farmhouses → drive to Snæfellsnes for the Kirkjufell midnight sun shot. Sleep Grundarfjörður or Arnarstapi.
Day 8 · Snæfellsnes Full Day + Reykjavík Snæfellsjökull glacier national park → Djúpalónssandur black pebble beach → Arnarstapi sea cliffs → drive back to Reykjavík (~2 hrs). Dinner at Dill or Grillið. Kaffibarinn nightcap.
Day 9 · Blue Lagoon + Keflavík + Home One last Brauð & Co cinnamon bun. Blue Lagoon 1pm slot . Leave by 3:30pm, return rental at KEF, check in for your 8pm flight.
