Did Microsoft permanently delete your non-profit’s Microsoft 365 / SharePoint / OneDrive data after license changes? Please contact me.

Our non-profit recently lost all of our SharePoint and Microsoft 365 data after Microsoft removed our legacy Nonprofit Business Premium licenses.

We were never warned that our data would be permanently deleted. We received invoices and other Microsoft emails, but no notification stating that our organization’s data would be erased if we didn’t take action.

Microsoft has told us the deletion is irreversible. However, we’ve since learned of at least one case where data was successfully restored within the 14-day period, which raises serious questions about how these cases are being handled.

We have already contacted law firms to obtain legal advice. If it turns out Microsoft failed to follow its own policies or failed to provide adequate notice before permanently deleting customer data, we are considering pursuing legal action. If there are enough affected organizations, that could potentially include a class action.

If your non-profit experienced the same thing—especially if your SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, or Exchange data was permanently deleted after a license change or deprovisioning—I’d really appreciate hearing from you.

Please comment below or send me a private message with:

  • What happened
  • When it happened
  • Which Microsoft 365 nonprofit licenses you had
  • Whether Microsoft was able to recover your data

I’m not looking to start a debate about backups. We know backups are important. The question here is whether Microsoft permanently deleted customer data without providing adequate warning or following its own stated retention process.

If this happened to multiple organizations, it may indicate a much broader issue than an isolated incident.

Solo founder building in public — I automated my own lead prospecting and I'm launching it on PH next Tuesday

Quick story: Lead gen is a pain in the a**. So I built the thing I wished existed.

I built a desktop app that automates B2B lead generation 24/7. Enter your website, the AI handles targeting, you get verified emails and phone numbers ready for outreach.

I'm launching on Product Hunt June 2. Would love to connect with other founders who've wrestled with the same lead gen problem.

If you'd support the project or you're just curious, dm/comment - let's connect.
