How much do your friends matter when you are older with kids?

I’m currently 21 for context.

I was wondering if you were quite wealthy, or if you had a specific amount of money, would you take your friends on holidays etc? Or would you mainly prioritise family over everything first.

If your children became wildly successful, think top athletes, is it normal to invite your friends to games? Or is that beyond the scope of how involved they’d actually be?

Didn’t get a scholarship from Middle Temple

Pretty gutted, I tried my hardest and I’ve seen a lot of people on LinkedIn celebrating their results.

Of course I’m happy for them, but I’m slightly beginning to doubt myself now.

Some words of encouragement would be great, or some success stories from anyone here!

How hard is it to progress at firms?

I’m thinking large(ish) multinational companies, maybe even as far as those in the FTSE100 say.

Generally, how hard is it to go up the ranks?

I understand it is very industry dependent, but how would a career progression look for say:

Junior to CEO for example?

Just the title: I’m assuming either Magic Circle firms or finance - but just curious on your opinions as to what you think is the cream of the crop in terms of careers in the UK.

Literally just the title - quite curious as I see a lot of footballers inviting their friends to games etc… of course it is an entirely different profession, but at that level of seniority, how common is it for friends to be invited to dinners, trips, events, football games, etc?
