I got tired of duplicate Chrome tabs, so I made this
Hey, I made a small Chrome extension called FuChen - Safe Tab Cleanup.
Basically, it helps clean up messy Chrome tabs without accidentally nuking stuff you still need.
I built it because I always end up with a bunch of duplicate tabs across different windows, but I still want to review things before closing them.
It can:
- find duplicate tabs
- show cleanup candidates before closing them
- skip pinned tabs and tabs playing audio
- group tabs by domain or existing Chrome tab groups
- search tabs by title, domain, or URL
- undo the last close
It’s local-first too. No backend, no content scripts, and it doesn’t send browsing data anywhere.
Not trying to make a huge tab manager, just something simple for cleaning up tab clutter safely.
Would love feedback if anyone else has this tab-hoarding problem.
