Same admins mods on both sites and Big layoffs in SV
Hi all. I have noticed the same mods moderate both "H1/b" as well as " Layoffs" so be aware of that. Yes I didn't know that you could do that.. so if " theoretically" you get kicked off the one site,( for being opinionated) you can and may get kicked out of the other... So... Ha ha.
Also as you are aware of the big layoffs happening here this week in Silicon Valley with Meta leading the charge at 8,000+ AMD, and others we are to hear more about in the next coming weeks...
Our food Banks are ramping up. Because when you layoff one sector it's a chain reaction to others and as you are aware this area is very very expensive to make ends meet.
Additional info: So far this year 138,000 layoffs in tech In 2025 there were 240,000 layoffs in tech. Domestic Per data from Trueup, layoffs are moving at a faster rate in 2026. Intuit announced layoffs 3,000, additionally LinkedIn, Cisco, and GM have announced tens of thousands job cuts in their tech sectors And there's more to come. So ...I don't know what to say at this point...
Today California Governor Newsom signed an order to protect workers in AI jobs. Whatever that means.
