Is it OK to refuse employees Eid break?

Turns out the company my friend works for refused to give employees their Eid Al Adha holiday.

At first, they informed staff that there would be no eid holiday at all.

After employees raised a complaint, they then said they would give ONLY 1 DAY off, the first day of eid, and only to “practising” Muslims.

I’m not even muslim, and this still genuinely frustrated me.

What makes it worse is that, according to their own claims, this is one of the leading companies in their industry in Dubai, and they appear to be doing extremely well financially.

This does not sound right to me. Is this even legal or allowed?
