New project is not working out and I’m ready to roll off it
I started a new project a month ago, and I knew from the interview it might not be the right fit however was desperate to take on something to get by until I find something else. There were red flags in the interview but I thought once I’m on the project it’ll be fine but the onboarding, handover, and settling in, has been nothing short of frustrating and unnecessary obstacles. I thought it’s just growing pains but deep down I know we aren’t a good fit for each other. I’ve been on multiple projects and I’m stumped this is the first time I’ve experienced this. Lack of support and I don’t have the basics to able to do the job. Basically jumping through hoops to gather information that should’ve been provided in the handover. No handover is perfect, I know that, but how hard is it to collate links to everything you have access to and share with the person you’re handing over to? Expected to deliver when I don’t have all the access let alone context. I can’t ask if I don’t know what I’m asking for. I just know that by this point, it shouldn’t be this hard and that it’s not working out. I’ve raised these concerns and issues, some just seem annoyed when I ask for information and expect that I should already have it or received it from the handover. Despite nothing lined up to roll off to, I can’t compromise my sanity and force anymore “push through it” to stay on this project. Literally dread having to work each day. Has anyone experienced this? What did you do?
