Need help identifying Issues w/ Newly planted Holly
I recently planted an 6 Emerald Colonnade Holly plants (5-6 ft tall). They were planted 5 days ago as a privacy hedge along a fence line. They were planted with the top of the rootball 1-2 inches above the grade in the planting hole. In terms of the soil, I'm in Zone 9A in Northeast Florida and amended the soil with organic compost and a little bit of peat moss. No fertilizer. The plants get 6+ hours of sun a day.
I've noticed some wilting of the leaves, especially on the newer growth and had chalked it up to transplant shock but now I have noticed darkening leaves, there has also been some leaf drop recently. When I check the soil, it's a little moist but not overly so. In terms of the watering, I did an immediate deep watering after they were planted and one two days later. The darkening leaves look like it might be something fungal. On one shrub the leaves feel dryer than the others as well. I'm really hoping this isn't the beginning of root rot. Any help identifying the issues and best way to treat would be greatly appreciated!
