For people who have played the fighting games, what kind of character is Trinity? Melee? Range?

I saw gameplay of nine and she was using magic and that looked interesting. Is she also a magic user? I looked at some videos for trinity but couldn't comprehend, partly because they were from tournaments.

Edit: Turns out Platinum the trinity and Trinity Glassfille are not the same person. Which kind of makes this post moot. But if the new character is indeed Trinity Glassfille then it would mean collab with arc sys at early stages which is good for the devs and the game.
