My Son, Leukemia, and Handhelds

My son, 15, was just diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia which is going to require at least 6 months of hospitalization with maybe a week a month at home. I'm trying to find a nice, ergonomic, long lasting device for him to explore some games on.

Obviously price doesn't matter as much but ideally would not cost me a lot because we have other mounting costs.

Can someone recommend a good handheld device that might keep him busy but also entertain him during his 4-5 weeks stays at the hospital each month?

Much appreciated ❤️

Edit: this is not a post for sympathy - we are in good spirits, good hands (Randalls Children's Hospital is awesome), and have faith in God's plan. This is a post for information on how I can best distract my firstborn with some awesome retro games) 🫶
