Update about the readers also like section

Since this has been discussed a bit here, I'll just share that webtoon has addressed the issues regarding Originals only being shown in the "Readers Also Like" section

> "Following our recent app update, some users may be seeing an unbalanced mix of CANVAS and Originals series in their ‘Readers also like’ recommendations within CANVAS. Our team is aware of this and already addressing it. We will share an update on timing shortly and appreciate your patience."

Hopefully it means this will be fixed soon!

It's nice to see them listening to our feedback and keeping us updated. If you still wish to share further feedback about the recent changes to the platform, I definitely think you should still go ahead, but please remember to be polite to the Canvas staff!

In the new app update, the canvas tab has been changed. There's now "keywords" which, as far as I can tell, are categories for comics based on particular themes. I'm assuming the keyword categories you get recommended change based on reader preference? (so mine has a lot of romance for example.)

I can see some pros and some cons so far...

Pros: If categories are reader specific it'll mean having an easier time finding relevant comics. The categories seem to have a wide variety of comics of different audience sizes, meaning more opportunities to be seen (hopefully)

Cons: It doesn't seem like vertical thumbnails are being used anymore? I can't see a way to search by keyword right now, so you're stuck with whatever categories the algorithm chose for you I guess. I also can't see a way to find what keyword your own series is under, nor a way to customise it.

I'll be interested to see if this has a long term positive or negative effect on canvas. If it encourages people who usually feel intimidated by the section to give some series a go then I'll be glad... but on the other hand I hope it doesn't end up limiting some series reach in cases their genre is obscure or can't easily fall under a "keyword".
