I'm rereading Fall of Reach, and...

... it struck me instantly on reading this line that Eric Nylund probably knew *exactly* what happens to Jacob Keys in his future, given that this book was written as a companion / prologue to CE. Am I crazy, or is he out here jerking our heartstrings a bit?

For context, this is from page 158 of the old print of the novel, with the amazing and easily-dated cover of Blue Team depicted with CE in-game Spartan actor assets. Dated... but iconic. This section occurs as Keyes brooding on what to do with an insubordinate officer immediately after executing the Keyes Loop with the Iroquois en route to Sigma Octanus IV.

i think the world could use more femboys bc femboys have enough time on their hands to dress all cute which means they would have a lot of time to learn chess and clearly can manuevre deftly and efficiently around oblong structures without offending most people so that's pretty cool and i think they really need more spotlight like how it happens in iron man when that guy goes up on stage and sells his chess pieces without any shame as it should be, i want it to always and forever be like that, without shame and with all the time in the world to perform fess which stands for femboy chess for those uninitiated by the standard protocols of diademic tabletop gaming and post-femboy posting per pernicious platitude, which sounds like platypus

more femboys
