decided to pivot into cyber security. advice needed.
I've been looking into a career change and I started to listen to and follow people who are in IT and cybersecurity and it seemed interesting to me and I've decided to purse.
im trying to make a decision about going back to school or studying for certs and joining the market from there.
important info. I have a Degree in computer science already. however due to my mental health and thing with my family at the time I wasn't really in it. I didn't get internships, or career guidance so I had no idea what I wanted. I ended up at my current job, with great benefits and decent/ok pay (30 /hr) but not related to CS.
I can go back to school and finish 40 credit in 2 years with a degree. my current job will reimburse me for most of the tuition, I can possibly get internship, and my current student loans will go back in deferment till I finish. The cons to this is the time and money to go back to school.
I guess I'm looking for advice from people have gotten in the field or farther along then me on wether school is worth it. or should I focus on certs and experience.
