Spent some time processing it with snapseed and plenty surprised by the details coming out from this small camera.

Ricoh GR III at Kota Belud, Sabah.

My first attempt on astrophotography. Also my first ever reddit post lol.

Went to Sabah for a work trip and decided to stay for the weekend. Found out that today’s a new moon and a good time to take pictures of the milky way.

Initially planned to try astrophotography at Kundasang but it is raining and way too foggy. Skipped sleeping and research the weather around.

Found a great spot at Kota Belud. Immediate drove there (2 hours drive).

Settings:

• Manual mode, f/2.8, ISO 3200, 15s
• Manual focus to infinity
• 2-sec timer, tripod, RAW
• Single exposure (no stacking)

Edit: Snapseed only. Tune Image, Details, Hard Contrast curves.

Honestly didn’t expect this much detail from a 28mm f/2.8 fixed lens on APS-C.
