I recently started watching this dude, and I really like some of his content and points. However, sometimes during videos, and especially livestreams I’m watching, he appears to be harsh or insensitive in some ways. I’ll be watching a video agreeing the whole time, but sometimes he’ll just say stuff out of left field for no reason.

Obviously, I think this is just my opinions and how I feel about him. He simply isn’t my cup of tea sometimes. I find myself having to stop watching livestreams because it just feels like the streams are arguments that I didn’t want to be in, especially in the stream where he talks about Johnny Somali and RottenMango.

He does cover serious topics, which is why I think the opinions on topics he covers are very passionate, but I feel like it’s becoming a breeding ground for negativity and will eventually explode. It seems to me like sometimes he’s calm and educated, but other times he’s explosive and even harsh, especially when looking at his videos, then looking at his livestreams.

I really do enjoy the content he makes, but in my opinion some of his takes are unwarranted. However, I do acknowledge that this could just be a difference in opinions, which can often happen between YouTubers and audiences, especially when they cover heavy topics.

Now, about the Johnny Somali stream.

I watched the stream he did about Johnny Somali, and I think because it was a livestream, it was alright for him to be uneducated and then learn along with the audience. I think his reaction was just a result of shock to seeing what Johnny did, which is totally normal, but he didn’t seem as passionate about the topic as I would’ve expected.

He used RottenMango as a source for his research in the livestream. I do believe his opinions on her were slightly outdated and harsh. However, Stephanie has publicly acknowledged how people felt about the original way the podcast started out, and I feel like her changing routes and becoming more professional is proof she knows how the videos came off, even if it wasn’t her original intention, granted I don’t see how that thought didn’t occur to her and her team in the first place.

I do think she has changed for the better, and I’ve seen some comments talking about how she’s having more of a “gossip session” with her husband, which would be received as equally offensive as the mukbangs. In my opinion, in the early days of the podcast, it did seem like that was the case, but it seems like they both have taken a more professional role. To me, the husband seems more like a live audience member asking clarifying questions that the audience may have, that Stephanie can answer in real time to help fill gaps that may have snuck into the script.

So, I feel like if Dankyjabo took a longer, more educated look at her channel, he would notice the change. His opinions on her seem surface level in a way because he doesn’t even watch the video all the way through (I do acknowledge it’s lengthy) and doesn’t seem to look into her further to find out if the criticisms he has are still valid to date. Obviously, he can criticize someone’s old work or videos, but I think if he wanted to focus on RottenMango specifically, it could’ve been a separate topic for a later day.

He seemed more focused on criticizing her than the topic he was meant to be discussing, which I feel was unfair to the viewers and the victims in a way, because he seemed so focused on the RottenMango thing that he left less time to talk about Johnny Somali, who definitely deserves the criticisms more than the source he decided to use for said livestream.

NOTE: These are all my opinions feel free to disagree I like seeing other perspectives to understand situations better. :)
