Any recommendations of books in which the MMC is abstaining from sexual activity for the express reason of avoiding a STD like syphilis?

The only one I can think of is Nicholas in {First Comes Scandal by Julia Quinn}

He doesn't have to be a virgin, but I'm not looking for someone like Castleford in {Dangerous in Diamonds} who is just trying to prove he's not diseased.
