Anyone ever tried getting someone to bring stuff from abroad for you?

I’ve been thinking about this lately—sometimes products are way cheaper or just unavailable in certain countries.

Has anyone here ever asked a friend (or even a stranger) traveling from another country to bring something for you? Like you pay them + a small reward for carrying it.

Curious how people handle trust, payments, customs, etc.
Did it actually work smoothly or turn into a mess?
