Is someone/something sending me a sign?

Hello everyone. I have never used reddit before but i had an experience and didnt know where else to turn for advice/answers.

For some background context i am a woman in her esrly 20s who has spent the last year practically house bound with the exception of a few occasions due to health problems causing chronic pain. Due to this of course my mental health has also suffered and I am currently taking medication to help with both my depression and pain.

I have always consisdered myself agnostic but very much align myself with basic spiritual beliefs to explain complicated matters like the purpose of life. Just to give examples I believe in divine timing, karma, divine energy and have always felt a strong connection to nature and animals but have always been unsure of a higher power.

That was until the experience I had last night. I do have a small crystal collection from a few years ago that I keep in a little pot next to my bed. Last night I woke up because I could feel something hard under my back and it was an amythest. I do already have an amythest but it was nothing like the one I already have. I was a little confused but just popped it on my windowsill and got on with my day. That night I asked my boyfriend if he recognises it or knows where it might have come from and he had no idea.

My first thought was to take it as a sign, as I understand it amythests represent peace and protection which is exactly what i could do with at this point in my life. Peace and protection from the pain I am in every single day. I convinced myself I was just being hopefully delusional until I looked into it a little and saw that this type of thing is often interpreted as a spiritual appointment.

Long story short I would like some advice/answers from some practiscing witches. Is someone/something sending me a sign? If so how do I start a journey into paganism and any suggestion for good books (im a reader) or just any advice/interpretations in general I would love to hear.

Thank you to anyone who read the entire thing I know I rambled just wanted to give as much context as possible:)
