I just overheard a rather uncouth chastising of one operator on SARnet (Florida statewide repeater system). One operator requests a "radio check". The responding operator gives him one but then goes on a tirade about how what he really wanted to say was "signal report". I am new to ham and I tried to look into what prowords I should be using when. I could not find any definitive answer or list, at least not one from an authoritative source.

All I could gather from that is most folks are not using Clear and q words correctly.
