Hi everyone

I recently started transitioning my worldbuilding notes out of Scrivener and into Obsidian as I enjoy the organic, wiki like navigation and organisation.

I use it for documenting almost everything and currently have it organised by nation, location, events and characters etc.

Curious to know if anyone else is using it, how you find it and how you organise it. In particularly interested in how you might be using tags and canvases to support your worldbuilding organisation and visuals.

I'm not sure if this is a world building question or a writing question.

How do measurements for time fit in high fantasy? Do they feel odd and out of place, or reasonable if there's a worldbuilding explanation?

I feel strange talking about hours and minutes when writing from the perspective of my more wild, nomadic nations. I feel as though their sense of time throughout the day is less a priority compared to more advanced societies that may use sun dials or water clocks. I.e they may not have strict measures, but then if they are speaking to someone who would use a strict measure, how would they understand each other's point of reference?

Not sure if I'm making sense but have you guys see hours and minutes etc used in high fantasy and did it feel weird or ruin the immersion?

Hi all!

What it says on the tin. Have you watched the four part series on Netflix and what were your thoughts?

I really enjoyed it, but that's coming from a less-than-layman when it comes to dinosaurs and palaeontology!
