I’m building a small experimental system that looks at cities and identifies business opportunities, risks, and gaps for founders and small businesses.

Right now I’m only trying to validate one thing:

>

Example: Dubai (simplified)

Dubai is a fast-moving business hub:

  • high competition
  • strong startup activity
  • constant new business creation

What I look for:

  • underserved business niches
  • inefficiencies in existing markets
  • areas where demand is growing faster than supply

Example insights:

  • many SMEs lack structured growth or positioning strategy
  • cross-business opportunities are often missed
  • some micro-markets grow fast but stay invisible early

Key risks:

  • high competition in visible sectors
  • fast saturation
  • reliance on networks and timing

What I’m testing

I’m not building a platform yet — just checking if this type of structured “city opportunity insight” is actually useful to founders.

Question:

Would something like this help you when exploring a new market or city?

If not, what would make it more useful?
