I’m building a small experimental system that looks at cities and identifies business opportunities, risks, and gaps for founders and small businesses.
Right now I’m only trying to validate one thing:
>
Example: Dubai (simplified)
Dubai is a fast-moving business hub:
- high competition
- strong startup activity
- constant new business creation
What I look for:
- underserved business niches
- inefficiencies in existing markets
- areas where demand is growing faster than supply
Example insights:
- many SMEs lack structured growth or positioning strategy
- cross-business opportunities are often missed
- some micro-markets grow fast but stay invisible early
Key risks:
- high competition in visible sectors
- fast saturation
- reliance on networks and timing
What I’m testing
I’m not building a platform yet — just checking if this type of structured “city opportunity insight” is actually useful to founders.
Question:
Would something like this help you when exploring a new market or city?
If not, what would make it more useful?
