I got rid of my sciatica in a few months
For people dealing with sciatica, I just wanted to share a bit of my experience.
The biggest lesson I learned was:
Don’t push through the pain.
When it first started, I only went to the doctor once. After that, I focused more on listening to my body and giving it time to recover.
What helped me most was:
Walk a little → then lie down and rest.
I repeated that cycle throughout the day.
I wouldn’t sit for more than 5 minutes.
I wouldn’t walk for more than 10 minutes at a time.
The reason is, prolonged sitting, standing, or walking can keep putting pressure on the spine. When a disc is bulging and touching or irritating a nerve, too much pressure can make the nerve irritation worse.
That can lead to:
⚠️ Pain shooting from the lower back into the leg
⚠️ Tightness or tingling in the leg
⚠️ Difficulty standing for long periods
⚠️ Even walking becoming extremely painful
One thing I really want to say:
If your body is hurting, don’t keep forcing it.
Trying to “push through it” while the nerve is already irritated can make the inflammation worse and make the condition much more severe. At one point, my pain got so bad I couldn’t even sleep.
I also don’t want people to rely too heavily on pain medication. If the pain is unbearable, of course take it. But pain is also your body giving you a signal that it needs rest.
After giving my body proper recovery time and stopping the constant aggravation, I can now live pretty normally again.
Even now I still:
✔️ Stay careful with sitting
✔️ Stretch regularly
✔️ Listen to my body signals
For anyone struggling with sciatica right now — don’t lose hope. Recovery can be slow, but with patience and proper care, things really can get better
