Losing in places I’ve never been able to!!
Ive been on wegovy since November, so its my 7th month (technically 6th bc I skipped April after a bad reaction to the 1mg dose). I have lost a total of 12kg, starting weight being 92kg and it now being 80kg which is the lightest I had ever been able to get to before wegovy about 2 years ago (by eating nothing basically but now I get to eat a normal amount and still reach this weight) before my big pcos flareup which caused rapid weight gain.
But the fat distribution is totally different this time. Before wegovy, I only ever managed to lose weight in my upper body. My smallest I didn’t even look overweight at all in my upper body, the collar and shoulders even looking quite bony and malnourished (bc I was 🥴) but then from the waist down it was a whole other person and hadn’t really changed at all since I was over 100kg which was a huge insecurity. Being a medium in sweaters and tops but an XXL in bottoms and pant buying was an absolute nightmare as all “loose” pants were always way too tight in the thighs and bum area but too big in the waist.
Now my thighs and bum are significantly smaller! Smaller than they’ve ever been, like the reduced PMOS/PCOS is causing actual proportional fat loss! I have a little more pudge in the upper body at this weight in comparison to the last time, but it’s bc the weight is also coming off my lower body and it’s such a relief! It’s always been so frustrating and I thought I’d end up always having to be super bottom heavy heaving around these trunks that were my legs. My calf’s haven’t quite caught up so my thighs and calfs are now similar sized which is a bit funny looking but honestly I’m just happy that we’re moving in the right direction. I’m excited to go past my previous weight loss record and reaching my ideal weight which is 70-75kg which is a short way away but sure feels far away as 80kg has always been my plateau point which has been frustrating as it’s still overweight for me and my height. So the next few months will be exciting!
