Tenant/landlord responsibility

Hi, just looking for some general advice before it goes further, but recently neighbours have cut down a lot of vegetation which has caused increased activity of possums and what i think are mice on/in my roof (havnt seen any mice apart from a neighbours cat across the street catching 1 when i got home late one night but besides that just heard scratching a couple times the past week and saw some droppings when I checked the roof cavity/checked the kitchen exhaust because that vents directly into the roof cavity) I havnt seen any evidence of rodents inside the house as the house is well sealed from the inner wall and roof and I have 2 fully indoor cats that would make it known if a rodent was inside as they hunt any bug/lizard that is unfortunate enough to wander inside.

I've had a few emails back and forth and they are sending out a handy man to quote/close openings and check for rodents that i have noted and sent pictures of to my property manager (including a hole in a shingle, and chicken wire used in the weep holes and to cover what i think is access to wall cavity which would allow easy access for vermin) but they mentioned I need to contact pest control until I mentioned i that I think its the landlords responsibility.

For context i have lived at this rental for 9 years, have had some issues (mould, shingles breaking easy and they insisted on trying to clean a blocked outside pipe 4 times even though the first plumber said roots have made their way into the piping, then they replaced and it never happened again) but other then that what little repairs and matience has been swift, and they've always offered for us to resign lease

Should I be worried? I'm not even sure if the roof cavity would support my weight to clean the droppings let alone having to buy the proper masks and equipment, and affording pest control and professional cleaners if needed and I refuse to cook on the stove oven at the moment with the possibility of a rat droppings/dust from it going through the kitchen exhaust because its just a fan into the roof cavity, should the landlord also address the exhaust fan? Because ive seen a lot of information saying venting directly into the roof cavity is outdated and it needs to be vented outside directly.

Any advice would be appreciated thank you
