Time off work for IEPs

I am an SLP at an elementary school in California and this school year I’ve had an increase in parents who are unable to attend IEP meetings due to work.

Personally I feel like it’s not too much to ask to take the little time off to attend a one our or less meeting for your child’s education, but I know I don’t know everyone’s unique situation so we try to work with them. We even offer virtual meetings to minimize the time a parent needs to take off if they can just log in from work. We have a lot of part time staff so sometimes finding a time that works for all team is really tough and time consuming.

I have heard here and there something about employees need to be provided time off for IEPs but I cannot find any true resource about that. I’d love to have something to share with parents to help them feel okay about taking the time off for this reason. Does anyone have any resources or what you tell parents in this situation?

I'm assessing a 4 years 11 months student with several common phonological processes but I have one pattern that I'm thinking a lot about and would love to hear if anyone else has seen this and has any advice.

She is producing /tr/ as /kr/, /dr/ as /gr/ so first I thought backing BUT she does not back /t/ and /d/ in any other positions/contexts, only in the r-blend. I started thinking maybe she's pronouncing them more like **“**ch" and "dge" but again she doesn't back those sounds in any other contexts, only when followed by the /r/. Is it the /r/ pulling her tongue towards the back of her mouth causing the backing?
