During Fasting Advice
Hi all, coming to you in times of desperation.
I was in the process of going through the hoops with insurance to secure a nutritionist and a personal trainer, but unfortunately I lost my job, and along with it my health insurance/the funds to proceed down this path. Now my money has to make sure my family is taken care of, and I've decided I should try fasting to both facilitate weight loss and save money. As it stands now I've dropped down to one meal a day just out of money saving necessities, and have actually lost about 9 lbs in around 2 weeks time, but I know the path I'm on is an unhealthy one that may cause serious side effects down the road.
I am 6'2 and 415 lbs as of writing this post.
I'm fairly certain I have the knowledge needed to start a fast safely, and how to break the fast as well as maintain my electrolytes during it (all of which I have to give credit to this subreddit for), what I'm more looking for is advice on what is safe to do during the prolonged fasts for someone of my size. Exercising would be the main thing. My old job was very sedentary and I'd like to start taking steps towards changing that. I'm unsure of how to proceed without the personal trainer. The one I had said they had a "plan" for me but they won't release it to me without me coughing up the money to start. I don't want to put my body in unnecessary peril by overdoing the working out while fasting, or maybe doing something that will end up hurting myself. From what I've gathered its mostly on a person to person basis and I'll just have to feel it out for myself but any and all help or advice would be appreciated.
If anyone has been my size and succeeded in weight loss through fasting I'd love to hear your story and any struggles you had along the way that were a shock that you had to overcome.
I will also be asking a similar question in subreddits more catered towards fitness but I wanted to start here since most of those subreddits will assume there is food intake.
Thank you in advance for any replies this may get, and even if it doesn't get replies thank you for taking the time to read my post.
