My Comprehensive (for now) Collection
Someone replied to an old post where I showed my then new display, and it reminded me I needed to post an update:)
In January, I was laid off from my job at Cash App. Part of that was a severance package of several thousand dollars. Fortunately, I was able to find a new job very quickly, and so I knew I would be having income again in a short period of time. So I decided to use that severance to not only clear out my Sideshow in stock orders, but I also picked up many figures I had missed before on eBay. This included a ton of Iron Man figures, and several Artisan figures. Basically, I knew I'd never have this kind of money at one time again, so I struck while the iron (Man) was hot.
I also took the opportunity to change my displays from shelves hanging on walls to display cases. I already posted in length about the Cubic Six cases that have now become my Star Wars display. I bought some lighted shelves, and an larger Brottar case that I really like. And I tried my hand at customizing garage shelves, and did everything short of putting acrylic on it.
In the future, I'm planning in getting more Cubic Six cases to replace the garage shelves. And I got more figures coming in over the next few months. I've also got battery replacement systems in several of the Iron Man figures, and I'm going to try my hand in doing it myself so I can save some money. In the mean time, some of my favorites are the battle damaged Wolverine, the Artisan Scarlet Witch and Iron Spider (incredible head sculpts), my Mark 2 2.0, the Mark 42, and the Mark 6 with Gantry, the Mark 45, and both my Civil War Iron Man and Cap.
